There aren’t enough good words I could say about this amazing couple. They hired me last year to shoot their wedding and between their engagement session, a few other sessions, plenty of correspondence with Victoria, etc., I feel like these two are old friends! It was bittersweet on their wedding day, because I knew all of the festivities were over and that we wouldn’t be talking as much anymore, but I made them promise we would still remain friends! :)
Brad and Victoria just have this ‘thing’ about them that I can’t put my finger on. When you meet them, you instantly know they’re good people. They’re crazy about each other and it shows – I love when a couples love radiates like theirs does. Together they have two beautiful children and really — they just have it all! They’re the kind of couple that every wedding photographer dreams of.
I arrived at the hotel where Victoria and her bridesmaids were getting ready and got some great shots of Victoria getting into her gown. She wanted her best friends to have that ‘wow factor’ so she had them wait in the other room while she got into her dress. Once she was all ready, I lined the girls up and had them walk in to witness how beautiful their best friend was on her wedding day. I LOVED their reaction! They smiled, cried, and were so very excited for her. They helped fluff her dress, put an extra bobby pin in her hair, made sure she was all set, and off to the church we went. Brad and Victoria’s son Zachary was the ring bearer, and when he walked down the aisle (very cutely, I might add), Brad lost it. To watch him fall into a puddle watching his son was the sweetest thing. Next came the flower girl, their daughter Kaylee Anne, and she ran to her daddy after not seeing him all day. He held her as Victoria walked down the aisle to him. As a mother, and an extremely emotional wedding photographer, I was a puddle at this point.
It was open mic night at the little cafe next to where we did portraits of Brad & Victoria. Someone got on the mic and started singing wedding music. At this point of the night, watching their love for each other as someone sang to them from across the way, I just poured tears! It was such a BEAUTIFUL moment and I’m pretty sure we all felt it!
The reception was shortly after and holy cow – can I just say… these two threw one hell of a party! I’ve never shot a wedding with THIS much enthusiasm before. From the wedding party dance after being introduced, Purple Rain being sang by a family member, the many cheers and clinking of beer bottles, Brad’s crazy/erotic strip tease of a garter toss, to the sparkler, chinese lantern and boat exit… it was definitely one for the books! I will never forget this one, ya’ll!
Brad and Victoria, thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to capture your special and beautiful day. You two are so deserving of the most amazing things and I hope for a lifetime of health and happiness, to your family from mine! XOXO!
