I’ve been yearning to share this idea thats been placed on my heart for a few weeks now. Between busy season in the photography industry, being a SAHM during the day, making time for that sweet husband of mine and keeping up with our house, laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, etc., it can be hard to a) bring dreams to fruition and b) make time for God.

I’m fine with placing certain dreams on hold while I get caught up in life to avoid being overly busy with an underwhelmed soul, but I’m not okay with not making as much time for God.

I made it a point to buy a new bible a few months ago that made it easier for me to read one small scripture each day for busy women/moms but I can’t even get to that sometimes. I have found myself not always thanking God for my every day blessings and it wasn’t until just a few days ago that I realized how present He is in my life and how busy I have been lately, thus not making enough time for the simple ‘thank you, God’ speech I give Him so often.

A few days ago, I was running errands and saw a really unfortunate family with a tiny baby begging for help/money/formula/diapers. I won’t dive into the emotions I felt and the tears I shed because that’s a topic for another day. But what I will say, is that in that moment, I wanted to be the best Christian woman I knew how to be, and I think I failed.

Virginia Beach has certain groups of women who get together and talk about their businesses, what works, what doesn’t, and they help with things on the business front. I’m glad I have friends I can shoot a quick text to for business help but what I don’t have, is a solid group of women who believe in what I believe in, love God, love our families, work hard to keep that relationship with God and try to do the Christian-like thing every day.

If not, I want to create that group for you and I in Virginia Beach!

I have no idea what this will come to, what will happen, how many people will show, but I know I want to make it work some how.

We live by the ocean and I feel the strongest connection to God when I’m on the beach. So here’s the idea thats been placed on my heart:

A weekly or monthly meet up on the beach with other Christian women. You can be a stay at home mom, a work at home mom, a working mom outside of the home, not a mother at all. You can be a Christian, a woman seeking God, a woman that has no idea who God is. You can be a business owner or a non business owner — these things don’t matter. We just need to have one common denominator:

A yearning for a deeper connection to God. 

We could spend one week/month (depending on what we all decided on for a good meet up time frame) reading a certain book and then discussing at our meet up, or just discussing every day things that we need and want to get off of our chest. We could be that solid group of Christian women that each other needs. Think about the amazing relationships and bonds that could form off of just having this one thing in common: loving our God and wanting to grow closer to Him.

God says we are the Salt of the earth and the Light of the world, right? Let us do just that.
