The number one question I receive over and over from clients is “what should we wear?” and its definitely a favorite question to answer. I love having styling consultations with my clients because it allows them to breathe easy knowing I’m going to help them find outfits that will not only flatter their body type but also colors and styles I know will photograph well in the location we’ve chosen for their session. It allows them to gain trust in me from the start and I know they’re going to arrive looking fab!

For starters, I don’t think heavy prints photograph well, nor do they flatter any body type! Florals are always classic and timeless and I don’t consider this a heavy print unless the colors are super bright and distracting. The key to styling your family photo’s is keeping the palette pretty neutral with colors like white, grey, khaki, blush pink, pale blue, etc.

I prefer to buy my husbands ‘family session’ outfits from Old Navy because more than likely, he wont wear these items a lot so I prefer to spend less on him than I would on myself considering I always wear my dresses over and over!
