I’ve known Alex for about 6 years now. She’s a senior at Radford University, a Christian who is passionate about dedicating her life to our Savior, and she’s a fantastic musician who is recording her first EP this summer!  I remember when she got her first guitar so  I was extremely excited to do this session for her and she’s already planning on putting one of the photo’s on her CD when she makes one ;-)  I always love working with other artists in ANY industry because I truly believe beautiful and amazing things happen when 2 or more artists get together to share their talents together.  Alex and I wondered around the Oceanfront snapping a few photo’s and I had mentioned to her before we started that I didn’t want to pose her.  I wanted her to be natural and just go with the flow and be herself. For anyone that knows her, you know she’s fun, silly, quirky, and LOVES to laugh, so I knew she’d be great at that ‘natural vibe’ I was wanting to capture. She felt weird at first but as soon as she put that guitar in her hand, magic happened! We walked around and I followed her with my camera. She played little tunes, hummed, sang, and was just SO happy.  That’s the meaning of life right there! Knowing what you’re passionate about, doing it, and letting it take you to a whole other world.  I felt so at peace photographing her because SHE was at peace. She was in her element. She was happy — and happiness is contagious!  Even after we got in the car to switch locations she was still singing along and I think she forgot I was even there, LOL!!  I loved hanging out with her and can’t wait to do it again!  She and I got caught in SO much traffic between her getting to Virginia Beach and us making our way to the Oceanfront to snap a few photo’s that the sun quickly went down — bummer!  We’re going to re-take a few more in the summer when we have more time and more sun light but for now these will do!
