In every career, business, LIFE, I think change is inevitable.  We must change to grow and we must never stop that process in life. This Fall will make 3 years that I have owned and ran Jami Thompson Photography and it has truly been the most amazing 3 years of my life! My business has grown with me as a wife and a mother. I got married while I have owned my business, shot my first year of weddings pregnant, all the way from the very first wedding to the last, just one month before I gave birth. Life comes with ups, downs, challenges, growing, and a whole lot of learning — which is what’s happening in my business right now too; growing + learning.

I have known that couples and weddings are where I have wanted to specialize since the very beginning. Its where my heart is, what makes me happy, and its what I’m good at (if I may toot my own horn for a second ;-) LOL). I adore shooting families as well but couples, maternity, lifestyle and weddings are what makes my heart sing and I think that shines through my work.

Let’s talk about maternity for a second. I really love shooting maternity. There’s something about those last moments of being pregnant and having that captured. Those last few moments where its just you and your husband, right before the best blessing God could ever give you enters the world and forever changes yours. God has been telling me for a long time to go after this dream of shooting maternity in a different type of way and after a lot of praying and asking for guidance in this area of my life, He has given me the push to really go after this dream.

I’m really excited to announce my new Motherhood Collection within Jami Thompson Photography! A different way of shooting maternity and ‘newborn’ photo’s if you will. My approach and my vision for these is: classic, timeless, black and white photo’s in The Studio consisting of ‘bump to blessing’ — which would be maternity photo’s done first of course, in a very classy way, all indoors, focusing on the details of pregnancy and the glowing mom-to-be. Then the second phase of our session within the Motherhood Collection would be a lifestyle portrait session in The Studio after baby is born. The session will focus on the details of baby… their teeny tiny toes, lips, ears, fingers… all of these little details that won’t stay so little for long. Warm embraces by mom and dad with baby, and my promise is for the love you feel for that tiny human being, to be radiated through my camera into these images that you will cherish for a lifetime.

This is a classic approach to your typical ‘maternity’, ‘newborn’, and ‘lifestyle’ photography with the Jami Thompson twist on it. My vision, my creativity, your beautiful family. The Motherhood Collection will be launching around Mothers Day 2015 — all details on these sessions including pricing will be announced with the launch! I hope you’ll become a part of this new journey with me. *Please know that my typical maternity sessions (outdoors) will remain the same and not change in any way. This is just an addition to JTP and a very exciting one! The Motherhood Collection will include professional hair and make up for the new mother, whereas my regular sessions do not!
